Barclays CEO Jes Staley confirms that the British banking giant will not launch any cryptocurrency trading desk for now
-Mr. Jes Staley says that Barclays will continue monitor for updates in the digital currency space.

-But, there are challenges involving cryptocurrency that Barclays bank doesn’t want to be a part of.
According to London publication, Financial News, the British banking giant CEO Mr. Jes Staley, reveals that Barclays is not planning to launch a cryptocurrency trading desk.
He said that he continues to monitor updates in the digital currency space. He said that however, he admits that he looks for opportunities in cryptocurrency business.
Despite being an innovation in financial technology, cryptocurrency business can still be used in other activities beyond its purpose.
Meanwhile, other financial giants such as Goldman Sachs and Nasdaq also consider offering a cryptocurrency trading desk.
In an interview on CNBC, Nasdaq Chief Executive Adena Friedman revealed that the investment bank also considers being a cryptocurrency trading company once the market has already been regulated.
